French Baguette - New! At Victoria Street

I waited so many weeks for this French Baguette place to open at Victoria street.
Talk about excitement when they finally opened up those doors.

They have a huge selection of all sorts of sweets, a sandwich bar with a choice from Vietnamese rolls or French baguette.
And of course I order a French baguette, with high expectation that this will be a really good French baguette.

I ordered a smoked salmon baguette, but somehow they thought I wanted a breakfast plate so they overcharged me.
When we finally had sorted out so they got my order right,  I asked if this smoked salmon come with any sauce/spreadable,
cause it will be quite dry with just bread, salmon and some salad.
They thought I wanted more salt, and explained to me that this baguette is very salty already..
I know this, since I ordered salmon.. I tried again to explain.. But they just couldn't understand,
so I said thank you and took my baguette with me home and spread my own cream cheese on it..

The Abbotsford Club

Melbourne's best coffee! They roast their own coffee beans,
the smell of their roasting is fantastic and attract all your senses.

Have the coffee in their cute little coffee shop or take it home with you.
The service is not the best but their coffee is unbelievable good.

Impress your boss or work colleagues with a surprise.

Om Nom

Melbourne's most beautiful dessert bar with spectacular looking desserts and extraordinary good service.
The place is very cool and modern, their variety of cocktails and teas are carefully chosen.

We tried the Raspberry Field and famous Mango Alfonso from Masterchef. From the way the dessert were described and presented on the plate, we expected an explosion of flavour to come out as soon as you took the first bite, however we finishing the dessert and we were still expecting more.

A beautiful looking dessert that did not give us flavour but high expectations, just a shame it did not live up to the way it looked.

8bit - Swanston Street

First time for me at this place, I was very excited cause I have heard from friends that this is a good place.

The burger was good, meat is very small compared to the two slices of bread, the crispy onions was very good and crispy.
I won't write more about the food, cause my disappointment is in the service.
Wherever and whenever I purchase food, I expect service depending on the place. But at 8bit at Swanson street, I didn't receive a service at all. I ordered a 8bit cheeseburger and crispy onion rings, the server didn't smile and mislead me when they asked what I wanted to drink, for me this means that the drink is included, I responded that I just wanted a small cup with tap water. This is when I dropped my chin, they replied that there is a water tap on the street that I can use to drink from, but didn't offering a cup or anything. Or I need to pay for the water bottle which is $3,50. I asked again what I had to do cause I just couldn't believe what I heard about this water tap, and they repeated again by saying 'I said that there is a water tap outside this building that you could use.' My respond was 'That is disgusting, no thank you.' They made a comment again and said 'I'm sure they clean it and that it is fresh.'

This service is a joke, specially when you pay $10 for just a burger.. I have better service at Mc Donald's and Subway, there is no issue to ask for tap water,
they even ask what size and if I want ice in it.

Mörk - Hot Chocolate with theatre

If you love chocolate, this is the place. 100% pure cacao beans used to brew chocolate for breakfast, drinks or sweets to excite all your senses.

The campfire hot chocolate is a surprise, it is really like sitting at a campfire,
roasting a marshmallow with a hot chocolate. The flavours are smokey and the black salt on top
goes well together.

Malted hot chocolate, is a salted caramel hot chocolate with floating meringues.
The balance of flavours are perfect, it's not too sweet, it all just works.

Every dish has its own form of theatre. Rich is not a word here, it's the way you feel when you walk out.
